Hereinafter jointly referred to as the “Data Controllers”, provide the following information regarding cookies installed on the domain www.liujo.com (the “Website”).
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files, usually consisting of letters and/or numbers, sent by the Website and stored by the browser installed on the device used for browsing. Cookies are then transmitted back to the Website upon the user’s subsequent visit.
Cookies make it possible to store information concerning visits to the Website and represent a highly useful technology, as they enable the Website to function properly and more efficiently. Without cookies, the Website would not be able to remember certain information, such as the contents of a shopping cart.
Cookies may be classified according to:
- duration: session cookies or persistent cookies;
- origin: first-party cookies or third-party cookies;
- purpose: strictly necessary cookies, performance analytics cookies, and behavioural advertising cookies.
Session cookies expire at the end of the browser session, whereas persistent cookies remain stored for a longer period, for example to remember preferences or deliver targeted advertising.
First-party cookies are installed directly by the Website. Third-party cookies are installed by a different domain, for example where the Website incorporates elements provided by external services or advertising platforms.
The purposes usually fulfilled by cookies may also be achieved through similar technologies, including HTML5 local storage, Local Shared Objects, flash cookies and fingerprinting techniques. For the purposes of this notice, the term “cookies” shall also include such similar technologies.
What purposes do the cookies used by this Website serve?
Strictly necessary cookies: enable the proper functioning of the Website and allow users to access its content and services in an efficient manner. These cookies cannot be disabled and do not require prior consent.
Performance cookies: collect information relating to the use of and navigation on the Website in order to improve its performance, structure, navigation logic and content. They collect aggregated and anonymous information only and therefore do not require consent.
Functionality cookies: allow the Website to provide enhanced features and personalised settings. They are not necessary for the functioning of the Website and therefore require the user’s consent.
Targeting cookies: track browsing activity on the Website for marketing purposes and to create a profile concerning the user’s preferences, habits and choices. They are not necessary for the functioning of the Website and therefore require the user’s consent.
A complete list of all information relating to installed cookies is available in the “Cookie Settings” section displayed in the banner shown upon first access to the Website.
How can cookie preferences be managed?
Upon first access to any page of the Website, a banner is displayed containing a short notice and a link to the COOKIE CONSENT CENTRE, through which users may easily choose which cookies to install. The cookie consent centre may be accessed at any time through the dedicated link in the Website footer.
Users may also manage cookie settings through their browser, by deleting all or some cookies or restricting the transmission of cookies to specific websites. Instructions for the most commonly used browsers are available below:
Disabling or deleting cookies may impair the optimal use of certain areas of the Website, prevent certain functionalities, or affect the operation of third-party services.
Disclosure and dissemination of data
Data collected through cookies may be processed by employees and collaborators duly authorised to do so, as well as by trusted companies performing technical and organisational activities on behalf of LIU JO and DB, acting as data processors. Such data may also be processed by external parties acting as independent data controllers, including supervisory authorities and regulatory bodies.
Your rights
By contacting either of the Data Controllers at privacyconsumer@liujo.it or at the addresses indicated below, users may request access to their personal data, erasure thereof, restriction of processing in the cases provided for under Article 18 GDPR, and object to processing carried out on the basis of the legitimate interests of the Data Controllers.
Where processing is based on consent or on a contract and carried out by automated means, users have the right to receive their personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and, where technically feasible, to transmit those data to another controller without hindrance.
Users also have the right to withdraw consent for non-essential cookies without prejudice to the functioning of the Website, and to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.
LIU JO and DB have each appointed a Data Protection Officer (“DPO”):
- LIU JO’s DPO may be contacted at Dpo@liujo.it;
- DB’s DPO may be contacted at Dpo@digitalboite.com.
