LIU JO GIFT CARD – GENERAL CONDITIONS OF USE
LIU JO offers a Gift Card service, a gift voucher for friends and relatives issued to the bearer, which can be used in our participating stores.
How to purchase the LIU JO Gift Card
The Gift Card is a non-personal gift voucher that can be purchased by the Customer exclusively at participating LIU JO stores - the list of which can be consulted in the following section: www.liujo.com/gift-card/gift-card-stores.
The Gift Card is a bearer document that is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. It can be used for personal purchases or as a gift to a third party.
The LIU JO Gift Card is a virtual card only. No physical version of the LIU JO Gift Card exists.
The minimum amount that can be added to a Liu Jo Gift Card is €25.00 and the maximum amount that can be added is €1,999.00. There are no costs involved in issuing a Gift Card, neither for activation nor for usage commissions. The Gift Card cannot be topped up.
For in-store Gift Card purchases, the Gift Card code is sent via email to the BENEFICIARY, which the PURCHASER provides during the purchase process. The card can also be gifted to a third party by entering their email address and, if desired, a personalised message. Multiple Gift Cards can be purchased by placing separate orders, but they cannot be used at the same time for a single in-store purchase. The Gift Card can be combined with the other payment methods available in our stores.
The Gift Card is issued by Exelite S.p.A., with registered office in Carpi (MO), postcode 41012, Viale John Ambrose Fleming 17, Tax Code and VAT number 02322360369 (hereinafter “Exelite”). By acquiring ownership of the Liu Jo Gift Card (hereinafter also the Card) and using it, the Customer accepts the terms and conditions set out here, which are also available online on the liujo.com website in their entirety and without any reservation.
How to use the LIU JO Gift Card
The LIU JO Gift Card is a voucher that can be used as a payment method in parts. It can only be purchased for private use and is not for sale.
It is governed by the following conditions:
- 1. The customer who intends to purchase a Gift Card (hereinafter the “Buyer”) can do so in store using the usual accepted payment methods. When selecting the Gift Card, the Buyer must indicate the value s/he intends to add to it, which cannot be less than €25.00 (twenty-five/00). The value of the Gift Card also constitutes the purchase price of the same. At the time of purchase, in addition to their email address, the Buyer must also indicate a valid email address for the Beneficiary to whom the Gift Card shall be sent. Exelite S.p.A. shall not be liable in any way for failure to receive and activate said virtual Card by the recipient or for delays due to force majeure and in any case not attributable to Exelite S.p.A., such as, by way of example and not limited to: (i) the poor functioning or interruption of telecommunication lines and/or systems, (ii) the delay in the transmission of information or data or the loss of information or data that may occur for one of the causes indicated in the previous point (i), (iii) the inaccuracy of the data of the virtual Card’s recipient provided by the purchaser of the Card itself, (iv) failure to deliver the Card to the indicated email address or (v) the event that the email sent by Liu Jo is considered spam or junk mail.
- 2. The Liu Jo Gift Card can be purchased at participating Liu Jo stores using the payment methods accepted at stores in Italy, but not through the use of discount coupons, shopping vouchers, gift vouchers, gift checks, or other gift cards.
- 3. No discounts or promotions of any kind may be applied to the purchase of the Gift Card, including any existing offers and/or promotions. In any case, these are valid only for the direct purchase of products.
- 4. The LIU JO Gift Card is valid for one year, that is, 365 days from the date of purchase, which corresponds to the date of activation on our website or in store. You can check the card's exact expiration date at any time, both on the Website and at one of the participating stores. Upon expiration, the Gift Card shall no longer be usable or renewable. If the value of the Gift Card is not used by its expiration date, the Customer shall not be entitled to any kind of refund.
- 5. The amount of the Gift Card can be chosen by the Customer starting from a minimum value of €25 up to a maximum value of €1,999, which can be spent in multiple instalments or in a single purchase.
- 6. The purchase of the Liu Jo Gift Card is not subject to VAT, pursuant to art. 2, paragraph 3, letter a), of Italian Presidential Decree 633/1972 and subsequent amendments.
- 7. The purchase price of the desired items can be paid by combining the Gift Card and other payment methods that are accepted at participating stores. If the purchase price of the desired items is greater than the amount left on the Card, the difference can be paid by using the payment methods that are accepted at the participating Liu Jo stores www.liujo.com/gift-card/gift-card-stores.
- 8. The Liu Jo Gift Card is a bearer gift: whoever has the code shown on the LIU JO Gift Card can use it according to these conditions, without having to prove ownership. Therefore, it is the responsibility of both the buyer and the recipient to keep it safe and secure.
- 9. The Liu Jo Gift Card can be used for purchases in all participating stores regardless of where it was purchased. It cannot be used to purchase other Gift Cards.
- 10. The amounts credited to the Liu Jo Gift Card cannot be exchanged for cash and do not earn interest. The Gift Card does not entitle the customer to acquire the remaining balance or receive refunds in cash.
- 11. The Liu Jo Gift Card is valid and usable only after activation, upon payment of the amount corresponding to the chosen Gift Card, and upon its simultaneous delivery. The activation of the Gift Card in store occurs when the Gift Card is purchase and delivered.
- 12. The Liu Jo Gift Card can be used for a single purchase on a minimum receipt equal to the value credited to the Gift Card, or on multiple purchases during the validity period, until its value is used up. The value of each purchase made shall be deducted in full from the amount on the Gift Card. Whenever a purchase is made with a value lower than the credit on the Gift Card and as such the Gift Card is only partially used compared to its amount, the same code as the "original" Gift Card shall continue to be valid. It is not possible to partially use the Gift Card credit if it is lower than the purchase value.
- 13. You can check the value and duration of your Gift Card at any time by contacting participating Stores. No data of the purchaser or bearer is made available or accessible.
- 14. If the amount credited to the Gift Card is insufficient to make the desired purchase, the remaining amount can be paid using one of the other payment methods accepted by LIU JO.
- 15. The Gift Card is not a personal instrument but a bearer instrument and can be used by anyone who presents it to make a purchase: the holder of the card and its code is solely responsible for its use and safekeeping. If it is lost/stolen, LIU JO cannot be held responsible for improper or fraudulent use by third parties. In the case of theft, loss, or damage, the card shall not be replaced or refunded.
- 16. The Gift Card purchased in store is exclusively virtual (not physical) and is sent to the email address entered in the form by the buyer when placing the order. The buyer assumes full responsibility for the data entered as well as for the content of any accompanying message they may complete for third parties. LIU JO cannot be held responsible for failure or incorrect delivery of the email containing the Gift Card code and any accompanying message, for inaccuracies or errors in the transcription of the recipient's email address, or for the content of the accompanying message.
- 17. In the event of a return of product(s) purchased using a Gift Card individually or in association with other in-store payment methods, the value spent using the Gift Card shall be refunded by issuing a shopping voucher for the same amount as the total value of the item(s) purchased using a Gift Card, whether used individually or in association with other payment methods.
- 18. Liu Jo Gift Cards obtained through any fraudulent or illegal means may be voided and cannot be used to purchase products. In these cases, after carrying out the appropriate checks, Exelite S.p.A. reserves the right to report any fraud to the competent authorities.
- 19. The Liu Jo Gift Card cannot be used by the holder for advertising or promotional purposes of products marketed by Exelite S.p.A.
- 20. The Liu Jo Gift Card is exclusively a payment instrument and is not intended in any way as an investment instrument and/or a solicitation to save.

- 22. Customers, for out-of-court alternative dispute resolution, can turn to certified ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) bodies, a list of which is available on the European Commission website.
- 23. These conditions apply to every purchase and the use of LIU JO Gift Cards made available exclusively by EXELITE S.p.A.
- 24. These rules are valid until they are explicitly modified, integrated or replaced. Any updated versions shall always be published and available on the LIU JO website.
